I'm a specialist decorator and have been for over 25 years. I have previously worked in many high end establishments such as hotels, restaurants and theatres. I have also carried out extensive work in listed buildings as well as many modern offices and houses.

This is Wigmore Hall, the oldest musical theatre in London. I worked on its restoration and had to match the original fleur-de-lis painted pattern from an old historical photo. Once I'd worked out the size of the three layered stencil, I made a grid on the wall using chalk lines to keep it symmetrical. I also had to replicate the marble using oil paints and scumble glaze onto mdf panels to replace old grills above the exit doors and on the new plaster cornice above the stage.
